Sun Watch Report
24 July 2010
Astronomy Ireland Chairman David Moore along with shop staff hosted another Sun Watch on Saturday July 24th.
Following on from the highly successful Saturn Watch on July 10, the Sun Show held July 24 also had clear skies and some huge new 'naked eye' sunspots were seen!
Due to the success of the July Sun Shows and given the huge increase in solar activity is has been decided to extend them to every Saturday in August as well! So mark Aug 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th in your diary now!
Our next 'telescope night' will of course be Star-B-Q on Sept. 4th but book tickets at the reduced rate before July 31st!
Sun Watches will continue on each Saturday through August so keep note of the following dates:
- Dates: Saturday, August 7th, 14th, 21th and 28th
- Venue: Astronomy Ireland, Unit 75 Butterly Business Park, Kilmore Road, Artane, Dublin 5
- Time: 1pm each week

As always, please rememeber that viewing the Sun directly without proper filters can damage your eyesight and lead to blindness. It happened to Galileo, don't let it happen to you!
For safe solar viewing drop into the Astronomy Ireland Shop for a selection of solar filters and to pre-order our new Coronado Personal Solar Telescope.
