Stargazers descend on Roundwood
VILLAGE HOSTS ASTRONOMY IRELAND'S ANNUAL STAR-B-Q

Wednesday August 10 2011
THE STARS WILL ALL come out to play as things hot up for a BBQ with a difference being held in Roundwood.
As Ireland's highest village, Roundwood is considered the ideal location to host Astronomy Ireland's annual Star-B-Q.
The most powerful Telescopes Ireland has to offer will be available for use on Saturday August 27, with all the food provided for the guests having been professionally catered by Michelin experienced chefs. The night will also include prizes and an overview of the constellations, while a night sky guide will be present as well.
You are advised to bring your own binoculars and at the Star-B-Q you will learn how to best use them in order to view the stars overhead. A special laser show will also unveil the secrets of the sky.
The event will go ahead on August 27 regardless of the weather, however, if the sky is overcast Astronomy Ireland will organise a separate telescope-only event for the following weekend.
Adult tickets cost €39 each, while tickets for Under-16s are €29.
