| Unfortunately the conditions tonight have not been good, due to high cloud and poor seeing. This image above gives you an idea of what Mars was like a week ago, taken with the same equipment as the other images (1-4). |
Astronomy
Ireland
is holding Nationwide Mars Watches (venues around Ireland
are listed below) on Friday November 4 at 8pm (BST). Mars will
be closer than it will be until 2018 so it is an ideal time to get out
and have a look at this fascinating night sky object.
The Phoenix Park events will have
virtual live images from telescopes uploaded onto website www.astronomy.ie
for everyone in Ireland to see. This innovation comes
compliments of Vodafone 3G Technology. So log on if you can't
make it to a watch near you. Having said that there is nothing
as exciting as looking into a telescope and seeing this magnificent
planet first hand and with your own eyes. So do try and make the
effort to get to a watch near you.
