 How to Find us

Astronomy Ireland members all over Ireland will be setting up their telescopes and inviting the general public to come along and look at the planet Mars on the day that it is closer to the Earth than it has been for nearly 60,000 years. All of our Mars Watches start at 9:30PM.  Bring along a few euros to make a small donation and buy a copy of the club's magazine "Astronomy & Space".

On August 27, Mars will be 34.6 million miles from Earth, closer than it has been since September 57,617 B.C., a record that will not be broken for another 284 years. Let's hope skies will be clear, but each event will run regardless of weather so go along for a chat and to pick up a copy of Ireland's only full colour astronomy magazine.
