"Behold Mars"
On Monday, March 8th, Kevin Nolan will open Astronomy Ireland's Mars Month celebrations by giving a very special talk
on the famous red planet.
On the night, you will learn everything you ever wanted to know about Mars from Kevin, who is Ireland's leading expert on the Martian planet.
Kevin is a Lecturer at IT Tallaght, Dublin and he is also a long standing member of the Planetary Society.
Kevin will be available on the night to sign a copy of his book "Mars: A Cosmic Stepping Stone" both before and after his Lecture.
Copies will be available to purchase at the event.
On Thursday, March 25th, Astronomy Ireland hosted Mars Telescope Watches in locations all over Ireland to celebrate
the planet's dominating presence in our night sky.
Along with Mars the Moon and the planet Saturn were also be visible.

The map is dated for 8pm on Thursday the 25th of March, when Astronomy Ireland will be hosting nationwide watches,
but it can still be used to easily find Mars throughout the month.
On Thursday 25th March, Mars will be visible just above and to the right of the Moon, in the constallation of Cancer as seen below.
As of yet, no one has found any real trace of life on the Red Planet,
though there is still a serious search going on for primitive forms of life on Mars.
Mars isn't all that different from Earth, it has a thin atmosphere, seasons and a source of water somewhere below the surface.
Therefore there is every reason for scientists to continue their search for life on this planet.
