Lecture Report
Monday 23 July 2009
"Absolutely fantastic!" one person exclaimed after the lecture given by Dan Parry, producer and author of Moonshot: The Inside Story of Mankind's Greatest Adventure. Hundreds of people thronged into the Hamilton Building to meet and greet Dan as he signed copies of his book. After the book signing, he began his lecture, opening with footage from the docudrama, Moonshot.
Following this, Dan recalled his experiences of how he met with astronauts to gain a unique insight into their lives and missions. Throughout this he displayed a slideshow of photographs taken behind the scenes of the Apollo Programme. Using his excellent sense of humour and inside information, Dan succeeded in demonstrating the fact that these famous heroes of space travel were just normal people, with wives, children, and a life that didn't only involve the Moon.
