Description:

"Astronomical imaging with a CCD camera"

The talk will be a brief overview of the techniques I use in taking and processing images using the Starlight Xpress MX7C and SXV-H9 cameras.

Kevin Sweeney’s Background

Had astronomy as a hobby since the 60’s when I ground a six inch mirror and produced my own Newtonian reflector. My early interest was mainly in lunar and planetary work but after buying a ten inch Meade SCT in 1991, I have “focused” more on imaging deep sky objects.  I have a small observatory in my back garden and converted the back of my garage into a control room from where I can operate the telescopes in comfort.
