Countrywide Venus Transit Watches
Tuesday June 8
Astronomy Ireland members all over Ireland will be setting up their telescopes and inviting the general public to come along and look at the Transit of Venus on the 8th of June (details below).  The " Transit" will begin at 6:14 am in the morning and will end at 12:26pm.

*Warning: Do not look directly at the Sun it will blind you.* Visit our online Venus Transit shop where you can buy sheets and rolls of Astro-Solar filter cheaply from the shop to make viewing of the Sun safe with binoculars and telescopes.  The Firstscope range of small refractors are ideal for the Transit.  For Accessories, cameras, and free advice call 01 8470777.  Check out the special online Transit of Venus Shop specially set up for the Transit.

When you come to the "Transit" bring along a few euros to make a small donation and buy a copy of the club's magazine "Astronomy & Space".

Let's hope skies will be clear, but each event will run regardless of weather so go along for a chat and to pick up a copy of Ireland's only full colour astronomy magazine.  If you would like to run transit watch in your area please contact tom@astronomy.ie
