                 "CORK'S NEW OBSERVATORY"
The Cork Branch of Astronomy Ireland is having a meeting in Jury's Hotel, Western Road, Cork at 8:00pm on Thursday February 24.  Guest speakers will be Damian O'Mahony, Communications Director, Cork City Council and Professor Niall Smith who is an astrophysicist with Cork Institute of Technology.  They will be talking about the new European Robotic and Astronomical Observatory
at Blackrock Castle, Cork (see page 32 of Astronomy Ireland's November 2004 magazine A&S), which is to be opened this year as part of the European City of Culture celebrations.
